Sunday, August 31 - 3:00 PM
Let’s take in some really good jazz by one of the Bay Area’s musical greats, the Jim Rothermel All Star Swingtet. Larry Vuckovich (on piano) and Noel Jewkes (on sax) — also two of the Bay Area’s best — will be in the swingtet. Go to www.rothermel.com to check up on the bandleader. Go to www.bachddsoc.org/calendar.html to check out the Bach. It’s quite a unique venue. The music starts and 4:30 pm but you should get there by 3:00 pm to get your tickets ($30) and secure your seats. Members of the society get reserved seats leaving not a lot for those who don’t get there when the doors open. We can have a sort of potluck on the porch overlooking the Pacific Ocean without having to fuss with preparing a dish (there are catered food and beverages available). However, you may bring your own bottle and keep it with you during the performance (food is not allowed inside the hall). Since gas is so expensive these days some of you may want to car pool. If so, click here.
